Enchanting music lovers and fans of this sublime and authentic musical style, the "Achyakh Malhoun of Fes" orchestra opens the ball of the 13th National Festival of the Art of Malhoun.
The "Achyakh Malhoun of Fes" orchestra performed on Friday afternoon at the famous Jnane Sbile garden in Fes, opening the ball of the 13th edition of the National Festival of the Art of Malhoun, initiated under the theme "The Art of Malhoun: the memory of heritage".
"Achyakh Malhoun of Fes" revisited a selection of the most beautiful Malhoun songs, enchanting music lovers and fans of this sublime and authentic musical style.
Besides the declamation of praises and panegyrics of the Prophet Sidna Mohammed, peace and salvation be upon Him, qçayed and poems addressing social issues and love were executed with magnificence by the members of the troupe.
Organised by the urban commune of the city in partnership with the Fes Heritage Foundation, this edition, dedicated to the national icon of the art of Malhoun, the late Haj Mohamed Bouzoubaâ, sees the participation of numerous orchestras from different regions of Morocco.
The programme of this cultural event, now an unmissable meeting for Malhoun enthusiasts, gives pride of place to concerts and shows scheduled in various spaces of the city.
In addition to humorous sketches that will feature professional and novice artists, the festival also plans theatrical plays inspired by the Malhoun heritage, the signing of a book entitled "Studies in the Art of Malhoun" by Abdelwahab Al Filali, as well as a conference under the theme "the impact of Malhoun on other artistic genres of Moroccan heritage" hosted by a panel of artists and researchers.
The National Festival of the Art of Malhoun also plans a round table on the rich career of the late Haj Mohamed Bouzoubaâ, one of the illustrious talents of Moroccan song in general and the art of Malhoun in particular.
A dozen national orchestras are taking part in this cultural event, including "the orchestra of the women's troupe of Fes", "the Malhoun orchestra of Marrakech", "the Sijlmassa orchestra of the art of Malhoun of Erfoud" and "the Al Assala orchestra of Meknes", besides "the Achyakh Malhoun orchestra of Fes".
