The thirteenth edition of the National Festival of the art of Malhoun will take place from 1 to 9 May in Fez, on the theme "The art of Malhoun: the memory of heritage". Dedicated to the icon of the art of Malhoun, the late Haj Mohamed Bouzoubaâ, this edition will see the participation of a dozen orchestras from different regions of Morocco. Thus, several concerts and shows will be given in various spaces of the city as part of this unmissable artistic event, initiated by the urban commune of the city of Fez.
On the programme are sketches and theatrical performances inspired by the heritage of Malhoun, the signing of the book "Studies in the art of Malhoun" by Abdelwahab Al Filali, and a conference on the theme "The impact of Malhoun on other artistic genres of Moroccan heritage" led by a panel of artists and researchers.
The thirteenth National Festival of the art of Malhoun, organised in partnership with the Fez Heritage Foundation, also provides for a meeting on the rich career of the late Haj Mohamed Bouzoubaâ, as an illustrious talent of Moroccan song in general, and of the art of Malhoun, in particular.
