El Kebab Commune – The National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) continues its tireless efforts to bring health services closer to pregnant women whose due date is imminent, establishing itself as an essential ally of local authorities in implementing the action plan designed to counter the effects of the cold wave.
Thus, the local authorities of the Khénifra province have launched a vast operation to transfer pregnant women identified under the current plan, coming from isolated, mountainous, and hard-to-reach areas, to hospitals, health centres, and maternity wards, in an initiative marked by human solidarity, fully in line with the High Royal Instructions calling for the global mobilisation of all logistical and human resources to provide support and assistance to citizens so they can cope with the cold wave affecting several regions of the Kingdom.
This operation is also being deployed in application of the recommendations of the Provincial Vigilance and Monitoring Committee, which recently met to anticipate the effects of this cold wave and limit its repercussions on the most vulnerable populations, particularly pregnant women, 77 of whom have been identified across the province.
In the villages of Imharen and Ibaghlan, nestled in the heart of the El Kebab commune, the time is for mobilisation. Local authorities have organised the urgent transfer of three pregnant women, whose delivery is imminent, to the nearest maternity wards to ensure their prenatal care and the close monitoring of their health status.
In a statement to MAP, Karima Makboul, a midwife at the El Kebab Health Centre, highlighted the importance of the INDH's role in welcoming pregnant women during periods of extreme cold, recalling that the INDH pays particular attention to maternal and child health by welcoming women from neighbouring villages before and after their delivery, while ensuring rigorous medical monitoring of their health.
For her part, Nouakh Al Massira, president of the Nahda Al Massira Association, which manages the El Kebab Maternity Ward, specified in a similar statement that this maternity ward brings health services closer to women living in rural areas, particularly those located in remote, rugged, and hard-to-reach regions.
After highlighting the efforts made to offer quality services, such as accommodation, awareness-raising, healthcare, counselling, as well as social and psychological support for these women, she praised the initiatives aimed at improving human development indicators and bringing health and social services closer to women.
The healthcare provision for pregnant women in areas affected by the cold wave and in isolated rural regions demonstrates the commitment of local authorities and all stakeholders to ensure increased vigilance, continuous presence, and effective intervention on the ground, in order to prevent any emergency situation.
The INDH is also a major player, playing a key role in this mobilisation by supporting the efforts of the authorities and other stakeholders to ensure effective and continuous care for pregnant women in these vulnerable areas.
