The programme to combat illiteracy and informal education has just been put on track in Hay Hassani. Initiated by the Regional Academy of Education and Training (AREF) and the Regional Delegation of Islamic Affairs, in partnership with the prefecture of the Hay Hassani district, the programme benefits some 2,170 people this year. Of these, 970 beneficiaries of both sexes take their classes in various public schools. This programme is supported by the AREF. As for the rest of the beneficiaries, approximately 1,200 women, they are enrolled in the programme initiated by the Regional Delegation of Islamic Affairs. Classes are held in 33 mosques under the prefecture. It should be noted that both programmes encompass both the fight against illiteracy and informal education. This latter component is intended for young people and children not enrolled in the classical system.
Furthermore, the kick-off of the programme to combat illiteracy and informal education, for the 2014-2015 school year, was given by Hanane Tajani, Governor of the Hay Hassani prefecture, and Khadija Benchouikh, Director of the AREF. "The programme was carried out according to an approach allowing the beneficiaries, women, young girls and boys, to have the skills to help them in their daily lives, whether on an economic, social or cultural level. This will open new horizons for them within the framework of professional development or integration into the global development process," it is indicated at the Hay Hassani prefecture. Finally, it should be noted that the launch of the operation for the year 2014-2015 was marked by the distribution of school bags and supplies to both groups of beneficiaries as a form of motivation.
