Unique in its kind in the Arab world and in Africa, this event has been working, since its creation in 1993, in the pioneering and perpetually developing field that is video art. Initiated by the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences of Ben M'Sick Casablanca (Hassan II University - Mohammedia), this international event is intended as a platform dedicated to young Moroccan and foreign creators to enrich their know-how and knowledge in the field of video art, reporting, and fiction. The Festival also stands as a place of meeting and exchange between students and young national and foreign videographers representing various universities and art schools. The Festival is a platform that welcomes each year internationally renowned artists and young contemporary creators, graduates of universities and art schools coming, besides Morocco, from Germany, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Spain, France, Iran, the United States, Great Britain, and Romania. On the programme for this edition, intended to promote intercultural exchanges between students working in the field of visual arts and multimedia, are the screening of 2D and 3D animated films, fictions, creative documentaries, as well as conferences and workshops for some 150 young people. The events of this programme, dedicated to the artist Paolo Rossa, will be held at the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences of Ben M'Sick, at the Moulay Rachid cultural complex, at the French Institute of Casablanca, at Gallery 2 of the Bourgogne Theatre, as well as at the Amadeus gallery of Anfa. A tribute will also be paid to the world-renowned creator Bill Viola, through the screening, among others, of a documentary directed by the French film critic Jean-Paul Fargier. For the previous edition, video lovers discovered a rich and varied programme that links video to different forms of artistic expression, notably installations, interactives, audiovisual performances, dance, and new technologies, as well as mapping and projections.
