The organisation of this sporting event by the Royal Moroccan Federation for Sport for All in partnership with the Zagora province prefecture comes under the slogan "I run as much as I can", over a distance of 4 km, as part of commemorating the 81st anniversary of the presentation of the Independence Manifesto, which marked a decisive turning point in the path of the national struggle for freedom, independence, and the completion of the Kingdom's territorial integrity.
This sporting event, which started from the Corniche square, aims to encourage and motivate women and students to practice physical activities, while raising their awareness of the importance of sport and its positive impact on health.
The President of the Federation, Nezha Bidouane, confirmed in a statement to the press the importance of this event, which clearly reflects the goals set by the Federation and its partners, explaining that more than 5,000 women and students, including women and children with special needs, participated in this event.
She added that sport is a factor of success that should be included in the individual's daily programmes, especially since the World Health Organisation recommends practicing sport for 20 to 30 minutes daily, noting that the Moroccan constitution reinforced this fact by enshrining sport as a fundamental right.
On the sidelines of this race, activities aimed at the general public were organised under the supervision of specialists from the concerned sectors and sports media with the aim of encouraging and celebrating outstanding students at the local and regional levels.
A women's football match was also organised the day before yesterday, Friday, at the Social Sports Centre in the Al-Quds neighbourhood, in which former international players Aziz Bouderbala and Hassan Nader participated.
On this occasion, the two former players presented a donation from the Royal Moroccan Federation for Sport for All to those in charge of the Social Sports Centre, consisting of sports equipment and supplies, in the presence of the Secretary General of the Zagora province, elected officials, and members of the Federation's Board of Directors.
It should be noted that the city of Nador hosted on 12 October the first stage of the second edition of "Women's Victory Steps", on the occasion of National Women's Day, which witnessed intensive participation of girls and young women from various social categories from the city and its suburbs.
The third, fourth, and fifth stages of "Women's Victory Steps" will be held respectively in the cities of Ben Guerir (22 February), Mediouna (6 April), and Rabat (13 April).
