Tetouan thinks big for its women and youth

H.M. King Mohammed VI has made the integration of women and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds into economic circuits and the improvement of their living conditions a strategic priority for the Morocco of the 21st century.
Tetouan thinks big for its women and youth

Throughout the Kingdom, the projects of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) intended for women and youth have managed to assemble all the pieces of the puzzle to become true pedagogical spaces, for strengthening the skills of these social categories and for meetings where it was cruelly lacking. Already, Morocco has to its credit a global and integrated training strategy capable of meeting the various needs of these young people and women, with the concern of properly facing the challenges of the fight against precariousness and the strengthening of social justice. This dynamic was further strengthened through the inauguration by H.M. King Mohammed VI, on Wednesday in Tetouan, of a social complex in the Jbel Dersa district and a training and women's skills strengthening centre in the Jamaâ Mezouak district. In fact, these infrastructures, which occupy a place of choice in the INDH programmes, aim to highlight the skills of young people and women in all fields. It is obvious that the realisation of such local infrastructures promotes the insertion of women and young people into active life and offers these segments of society the opportunity to develop their skills by benefiting from qualifying training in several trades and thus contributing to the dynamic of economic and social development, particularly at the local level. In truth, since its launch by the Sovereign, the INDH has set itself the objectives of expanding access to basic social services, promoting job-generating activities and stable incomes, and improving the living conditions of people suffering from great vulnerability or having specific needs. It is clear that the programmes initiated by the INDH are in line with the Moroccan societal project, a model built on the principles of political democracy, economic efficiency, social cohesion, and work, but also on the possibility given to everyone to flourish by fully deploying their potential and aptitudes. Indeed, such actions have constituted the spearhead of the Sovereign's reign project, whose main objective remains the realisation of global, integrated, and sustainable development meeting the requirements of upgrading the national economy and improving the material and moral conditions of citizens. Without a doubt, the royal visit to the Tetouan region gives an accelerator to the efforts aimed at covering the needs for social and cultural services for the city's inhabitants, fighting against poverty, precariousness, and social exclusion, and improving development indicators, while valuing the cultural and tourist heritage of the region and integrating the requirements of sustainable and human development as defined by H.M. the King in His multiple speeches and initiatives.
