The organizing committee of the Tamesna International Half-Marathon held a press conference at the City of Trades and Skills of Tamesna to highlight the seventh edition of this major international sporting event.
 
On this occasion, Aziz Nahkami, director of the event, announced that the Tamesna International Half-Marathon has obtained a certification from the International Association of Athletics Federations (label) this year, which constitutes recognition and validation of this half-marathon, which meets the criteria required for this type of competition.
 
The official also indicated that this edition will record a record participation of many athletes, both Moroccan and international. Among them is the Kenyan runner Korir, who recently broke the record for the Tamesna International Half-Marathon.
 
Aziz Nahkami highlighted the ambition of the organizing committee to reach a record participation in all categories for this sporting event organized in the Tamesna region for its seventh edition.
 
He added that the races organized are open to all categories, including a race for children over a distance of 3 km, bringing together 500 children from various schools and sports associations.
 
The director of the organizing committee expressed his gratitude to all the actors involved in this event, organized on the occasion of the commemoration of Independence Day.
 
Among these actors are the territorial commune, local authorities, as well as the Royal Moroccan Athletics Federation, the Wilaya of the Rabat-Kenitra region, the Prefecture of Skhirat-Temara, the commune of Sidi Yahya, and the official sponsor of this event, the Al Omrane Group.
 
Attractive financial prizes have been reserved for the champions of the Tamesna International Half-Marathon, as well as for the participants of the 10 km race which will be organized on January 5th by the Ashbal Tamesna Association.
 
Aziz Nahkami revealed the value of the rewards intended for men and women, promising to increase the amounts in future editions due to the success of previous editions.
 
For his part, Abdelhakim Zidouh, representative of the Al Omrane institution, affirmed that Tamesna is experiencing a significant transformation today thanks to the group's new policy, which focuses on the participation of civil society in a participatory approach aimed at providing administrative, educational, and sports infrastructure.
 
He stressed that Al Omrane's contribution is essentially social and is part of its role in supporting the development of the region, which constitutes an ecological and natural space housing a large population and diverse facilities.
 
For his part, international expert Ahmed Tannani stated that the course of the Tamesna International Half-Marathon is one of the best circuits, offering an opportunity for runners to shine and achieve remarkable performances.
 
It should be noted that the city of Tamesna will host, on Sunday, January 5th, the seventh edition of the international half-marathon, with the participation of more than 5,000 athletes of different nationalities, covering a distance of 21 km in the streets of the city.
