The holy month of Ramadan is beginning and the inhabitants of the Sidi Slimane province are worried about the availability of fruits, vegetables, and foodstuffs necessary for the essential dishes of this holy month. According to local authorities, consumers have nothing to worry about. Indeed, the governor of the province, Lahoucine Amzal, affirms that all consumer goods during this period will be available: milk, butter, meat, vegetables, dates will be available on shop shelves and at affordable prices. The meeting held at the province headquarters with professionals, notably millers and traders, was an opportunity for the province governor to call on the concerned professionals to strictly comply with the provisions taken by the authorities in this direction.
The control commissions will firmly continue their work in order to avoid any fraud or non-respect of prices and their display or the quality of products and services, he insisted.
He also added that a permanent service would be ensured during the holy month from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the province headquarters, including public holidays, for any request or fraud noted. Lahoucine Amzal added that a programme of religious talks is planned in different mosques falling under this province under the aegis of the provincial delegation of the Ministry of Habbous and Islamic Affairs. Furthermore, the forecasts concerning fruits, namely apples, oranges, watermelons, melons, fresh figs, bananas are largely satisfactory. The head of the economic and social division, Mohamed Hanafi, affirmed that everything was planned so that the supply of the Sidi Slimane province is done in good conditions and in order to avoid a shortage of fruits, vegetables, or basic necessities such as flour, dates, milk, butter, eggs, honey, sugar, coffee, tea, dried figs, meat, fish, chicken, etc.
On the price side, the head of the economic and social division affirms that there will be no increase this year. Ramadan is synonymous with abstinence during the day and gluttony as soon as night falls. However, before thinking about setting the table, it is important to ensure that all the ingredients are there. It is that the "ftour" meal could not suffer from the lack of certain foods. All consumers, each according to their means, do not hesitate to loosen the purse strings. And God knows if it is severely battered during this holy month. The generous "ftour" table makes people forget the hazards of life and encourages them to enjoy, in the convivial atmosphere of the family space, the gustatory pleasures.
