The first National Salon of Local Products, organised from 27 to 31 August in Settat, was an opportunity to promote agricultural and handicraft products, as well as to highlight the potential of the region. Initiated by the Wilaya of the Chaouia-Ouardigha region, in partnership with the regional council, the provincial council, and the INDH, this salon aimed to support local initiatives, enhance the role of cooperatives and associations, and strengthen the capacities and skills of actors in the social and solidarity economy. This event, the inauguration of which took place in the presence of Mohamed Moufakkir, Wali of the Chaouia-Ouardigha region and Governor of the province of Settat, as well as several personalities, is also intended as an opportunity for the promotion of local products, the exchange and development of partnerships between actors in the sector, and to encourage them to group together within the framework of institutions working in the sector. No fewer than 120,000 visitors flocked to the salon, which consisted of 120 stands dedicated to local products from the various regions of the Kingdom, notably the southern provinces, guests of honour. This event led them on a path of flavours, know-how, and authentic products brought by producers representing 60 cooperatives and associations. The participants exhibited a range of products, including honey, oils (olive oil, argan oil, and aromatic and medicinal plants), dates, rose products, olives, figs, plums, cactus, and couscous. This event also brought together a panel of researchers, professionals, and representatives of civil society to allow them to share their experiences in terms of conservation, preservation, and revaluation of local products. The event was punctuated by conferences that focused on "The importance of local products in development and food", "The strategy of the Ministry of Agriculture and Maritime Fisheries in the development of local products", and "The role of consultations in the development and supervision of agricultural organisations".
