Consecration for Saïdia beach. For the 6th time, it has obtained the Blue Flag label and is equipped with new infrastructure and a programme rich in entertainment.

The municipal beach of Saïdia has obtained the "Blue Flag" label for the 6th time. A consecration of the efforts undertaken by the city, the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection, as well as the Holmarcom group.

Indeed, the latter has been committed since 1999 to ensuring that Saïdia beach meets international standards in terms of cleanliness, safety, infrastructure, and entertainment, it recalls in a press release. This year, in addition to taking charge of the cleaning services for the beach and the corniche, the group has strengthened the equipment of the latter.

The beach is equipped in particular with a centre and surveillance watchtowers for the Civil Protection teams, an equipped infirmary, access walkways, and sanitary blocks for the disabled.

The beach also has a complete display system for the information and awareness of holidaymakers. Furthermore, the group has implemented a unique concept this year, "Beach without lost children". Indeed, it involves distributing SOS bracelets to children at the entrance to the beach on which one can write the telephone number of one of the parents.

The group has also set up an entertainment and awareness village supervised by a team of specialised entertainers. The activities of this village revolve around educational and artistic workshops, a sports area, a play area for children, and a beach radio. As a reminder, the international Blue Flag label was awarded by the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection and the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) to 23 beaches out of the 80 registered this year in its national "Clean Beaches" programme.

Created by the French office of the Foundation for Environmental Education in Europe in 1985, this label is managed worldwide by the FEE, a network of NGOs from 68 countries aiming to promote and implement environmental awareness and education programmes. Today present in 49 countries on all continents, the Blue Flag has become a global reference in the fields of tourism, environment, and sustainable development, the same source emphasises.

The granting of the label to a beach is done on the basis of compliance with four families of criteria, namely the quality of bathing water, information, awareness and environmental education, hygiene and safety, and planning and management. These criteria are checked throughout the season by a national committee led by the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection.
