A bizarre scene unfolded on Thursday in Rabat, near the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex. A short distance from the capital's bus station, a group of taxis brutally chased a VTC vehicle before cornering it on the side of the motorway, following a chase that nearly resulted in a fatal accident.
The vehicle was forced to stop after being slightly hit and surrounded by the taxis. The scene was filmed and shared by witnesses on social media, provoking the anger of internet users who denounced the recklessness of the taxi drivers. This frenzied pursuit endangered traffic.
The taxis pursued the VTC driver under the pretext that he had illegally picked up passengers at the bus station using an illegal application. The authorities arrived shortly after the incident. Arrests were made, according to concordant sources. No official statement has been released so far.
