Book "Anthology of Contemporary Moroccan Zejel" presented in Rabat in Spanish

This anthology, of 240 pages and edited in a medium format, offers a general overview of contemporary Moroccan "Zejel" translated into Spanish, and proposes a series of cultural, poetic, linguistic, and rhetorical approaches to better understand poetry in the Moroccan dialect.

The texts in this anthology have been selected by a research and translation team composed of poets Idriss Al Masnawi, Ahmed Lemsyeh, Radwan Afandi, Mourad Kadiri, Hmida Belbali, Maimoun El Ghazi, Bouaazza Sanaawi, Adil Lotfi, Dalila Fakhri, Younes Tahouch, Sabah Bendaoud, Mansour E Amiri, Azzedine Cheddadi, and Sarah Oulad El Ghzal.

The poems translated in this anthology are overflowing with metaphors, symbols, and myths, and are inspired by a wide range of texts, historical references, and human experiences.

The book "Anthology of Contemporary Moroccan Zejel", recently published in Spanish by the University of Seville, was presented on Friday in Rabat at a cultural and poetic meeting organized on the initiative of the House of Poetry in Morocco.
