HM the King inaugurates the first phase of the "Oujda Shore" Offshoring centre

This project is in direct line with the Royal Initiative for the development of the Oriental region, which aims to stimulate investment, encourage the creation of small and medium-sized enterprises by young people, equip the region with the necessary basic infrastructure, and encourage major economic projects as a priority.

Having required investments of around 120 million dirhams, this first phase of Oujda Shore involved the construction of two buildings dedicated to offshoring activities (7,500 m²), tertiary activities, and technopole services (3,500 m²). This offshoring platform, which is aimed in particular at specialists in customer management, IT development and maintenance, and administrative processes (BPO), will generate some 1,200 direct jobs. Oujda-Shore is one of the components of the integrated Oujda Technopole project, which also houses an SME/SMI zone, a logistics zone, a training campus, a Retail Park, and a CleanTech free zone. This Technopole also presents an encouraging progress report. Thus, the SME/SMI zone has seen the commercialisation of 29 lots, while the one dedicated to commercial activities (Retail Park) has recorded the commercialisation of eight lots. The development programme for the knowledge campus and its development plan have been validated with partners. Considered the keystone of the success of the Oujda technopole, the training of qualified human resources and the development of Research & Development are not left out. It is within this framework that the construction, within the Technopole, of a University Technological Campus under the Mohammed I University (90 MDH), an Institute for Training in Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Professions (95 MDH), and an OFPPT Institute specialising in offshoring professions (49 MDH) is taking place. The Technopole's knowledge campus will also house an Institute specialising in tourism professions, a cluster of private establishments, a Research and Development cluster, and a shared core (restaurants, residences). Like CasaNearShore, Tétouan Shore, and Technopolis of Rabat, the Oujda Technopole reinforces the strategy of regionalising Morocco's offshore offer. This platform, alongside the Berkane agropole and the Nador industrial zone, will participate in the integrated development of the Oriental region and the consolidation of its positioning nationally and internationally.
