Ouarzazate: 120 million dirhams to connect communes to the water network

Reinforcement works on the drinking water supply network have been launched to connect several communes located on the Ouarzazate-Skoura axis to the hydraulic installations of the city of Ouarzazate.

This project, the works of which will be completed next September, required a total cost of 120 million dirhams, including a contribution of 90 million dirhams provided by the Ministry of the Interior.

This project, equipped with modern facilities, targets approximately 90,000 inhabitants, including 45,000 new beneficiaries, located on the Ouarzazate-Skoura axis. It provides for the construction of a 30 km water pipeline for drinking water supply, the installation of a repumping station equipped with a 500 m3 reservoir, and the construction of a storage reservoir with a capacity of 1,500 m3.

The project will allow for the improvement of water supply, optimal demand management, and the saving and valorisation of this vital resource.

The launch of the works for this project was given by the governor of the Ouarzazate province, Abdellah Jahid, who was accompanied by elected officials, heads of external services, and representatives of the Ouarzazate Aménagement company.
