In this context, Imane Saber, President of the Provincial Tourism Council in Ouarzazate, said that the tourism sector in the city is witnessing a notable development that reflects the positive dynamics known to the province, noting that many hotel establishments have initiated the rehabilitation of their infrastructure, with a focus on improving the quality of services provided to tourists in line with global expectations.
Imane Saber explained, in a statement to Hespress, that the city recorded a large increase in hotel booking rates that exceeded 85 per cent as of Wednesday, and an increase in the number of overnight stays compared to last year, which is a positive indicator that strengthens confidence and optimism among professionals working in the tourism sector, and pushes towards achieving more achievements in the near future.
The President of the Provincial Tourism Council in Ouarzazate indicated that many hotel establishments that were closed due to the pandemic or even before it are currently preparing to reopen their doors after having undergone comprehensive rehabilitation operations and reclassification in line with national and international standards.
Despite the challenges and problems facing the tourism sector in Ouarzazate, Imane Saber confirmed that the combined efforts of professionals and local authorities, in addition to the positive figures recorded this year and the number of hotels that have reopened, are things that have contributed significantly to the city regaining its lustre and global radiance that has always distinguished it as a unique and distinguished tourist destination.
The same speaker stressed that the city of Ouarzazate remains a tourist treasure and a commercial asset that strengthens the position of cultural tourism in Morocco, thanks to its rich heritage, unique historical monuments, and charming natural sites that attract visitors from all over the world.
For his part, the manager of one of the classified hotels in the city confirmed that the tourist establishments have prepared a special programme for New Year's Eve, including artistic performances and traditional and modern dishes, adding: "We expect to welcome tourists of various nationalities, especially from Europe and America, and we have prepared everything to offer them an unforgettable experience."
