Riaya 2024-2025/Ouarzazate: A multidisciplinary medical caravan for the benefit of the inhabitants of Imi N’oulaoune

The Provincial Delegation of Health and Social Protection of Ouarzazate has just organised a multidisciplinary medical caravan, as part of the "Riaya 2024-2025" operation, for the benefit of the inhabitants of the rural commune of Imi N'Oulaoune.

The "Riaya 2024-2025" operation comes in application of the High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI aimed at providing the necessary care to populations in areas affected by the cold wave, and as part of the efforts intended to guarantee the continuity of services and their proximity to the inhabitants of these regions.

Thus, reports MAP, some 900 people benefited from this medical caravan with consultations in several specialties, including general medicine, ophthalmology, dentistry, and radiology, in addition to the free distribution of medicines to patients.

A medical staff composed of 70 health professionals committed to ensuring the success of this social and solidarity action, which was also marked by the organisation of awareness-raising activities on methods for early diagnosis of various diseases.

Organised in partnership with the prefecture of the Ouarzazate province and the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH), this humanitarian initiative was marked by the mobilisation of significant logistical resources, specialised mobile units, and modern equipment for medical analyses.

The "Riaya 2024-2025" operation, conducted from 15 November 2024 to 30 March 2025, targets the population of mountainous and remote regions in 31 provinces spread across 8 regions.

To this end, the regional directorate of Health and Social Protection of Drâa-Tafilalet proceeded with the mobilisation of 81 doctors of all specialties combined, 386 nursing staff, and 57 technicians and administrative agents.

Regarding logistics, 26 mobile medical units, 56 ambulances, and 13 trucks were also mobilised at the level of the five provinces falling under the region, with the provision of medical and paramedical equipment.

This action is carried out in coordination with the delegations of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection and the competent authorities in the provinces of Errachidia, Ouarzazate, Tinghir, Midelt, and Zagora.
