The hotel price comparison site trivago.fr has analysed hotel rates and customer satisfaction in more than 5,000 cities around the world. Taking into account prices from 200 booking sites and more than 140 million traveller ratings, trivago.fr thus announces the ranking of the 100 cities in the world where hotels offer the best value for money. And once again, a Moroccan city is in the Top 10.
Indeed, this year, Ouarzazate arrives in seventh place among the cities in the world whose hotel industry offers the best value for money. A feat when one knows the competition from Asian countries that offer very cheap rates. If the Kasbah of Aït Benhaddou – which rose to first place last year – does not appear in the 2015 ranking, it is because the city unfortunately did not have the minimum number of hotels required, which was raised this year to 50.
If Ouarzazate is part of the Top 10, it is thanks to the affordable price as well as the quality of its hotels. Indeed, the average price of a night in a standard double room in Ouarzazate is 61 euros; a trifle when one knows that the same service in Marrakech costs on average 102 euros. Also, travellers who have stayed in Ouarzazate seem very satisfied with the hotels, which receive an overall rating of 81/100; a rating well above that of Agadir, for example, which is 76/100.
Thus, in the top ten cities in the world, at the top of the list is Mostar (Bosnia and Herzegovina), followed by Novi Sad (Serbia), Lijiang (China), Plovdiv (Bulgaria), Szeged (Hungary), Amritsar (India), Ouarzazate (Morocco), Kaliningrad (Russia), Arequipa (Peru), and finally, Pingyao (China).
