We had become accustomed to only paying tribute to people who had reached a certain age. In Zagora, they are changing their approach. On Saturday, 3 May 2014, the Zagora Associative Network for Development and Democracy (RAZDED) decided to revisit the career of the young poet Yassin Adnan. A career that had already distinguished itself during the poet's student period, in the early 90s. Since then, all connoisseurs predicted a promising future for this young wordsmith. And it is the very young French-language poet Karima Nadir who will work on this artistic and cultural life. But why Yassin Adnan in Zagora? It is a long love story that binds the man to this magnificent oasis. The poet, who had the opportunity to visit it when he was working as an English language teacher in Ouarzazate, had fallen under the charm of its palm groves and Kasbahs. With his old friends from the oasis city, he contributed to the creation of a cinematographic event, namely the International Festival of Trans-Saharan Film of Zagora (FIFT). A dynamic that still continues on its merry way. Poet, short story writer, and journalist, born in 1970 in Safi, Yassin Adnan has been the creator and presenter of the cultural programme "Macharif" on the first Moroccan television channel (TVM) since 2006. He has already published, among others, "Mannequins", a collection of poems (1999), "Who believes in letters?", short stories (2001), "Sidewalk of the Apocalypse", poems (2002), "I can barely see", poetry (2007), and "Transit Notebook", poetry (2012).
