Tourist arrivals in classified hotels and guesthouses in Ouarzazate went from 13,907 in November 2011 to 19,817 last November, an increase of 42%, according to statistics from the Ministry of Tourism.
French tourists occupy the first rank with 5,266 people, an increase of 78%, followed by resident tourists with 3,424 people, an increase of 5% compared to the same period in 2011 (3,258).
The same upward trend was recorded by arrivals of German, British, Dutch, and Spanish tourists with 32%, 9%, 81%, and 42% respectively.
Concerning new tourist-supplying markets, Japanese visitors are in the lead with +154%, according to the same source.
Overnight stays continued the upward trend with an increase of 34%, going from 21,024 in November 2011 to 28,084 in November 2012.
French tourists are in the lead with an increase of 49%, followed by British (+96%) and Dutch (+86%) tourists.
The occupancy rate of classified hotels, residences, tourist villages, and guesthouses in Ouarzazate reached 19% in November against 14% during the same period of the previous year.
