The Poly-disciplinary Faculty of Ouarzazate is involved in the field of territorial intelligence and the valorisation of territories

How to promote the territory? The Poly-disciplinary Faculty of Ouarzazate is involved in the field of territorial intelligence and the valorisation of territories. Within the framework of the Franco-Moroccan cooperation project concluded between the House of Human and Environmental Sciences (MSHE) of the University of Franche-Comté and the Poly-disciplinary Faculty of Ouarzazate of the Ibnou Zohr University, a seminar was organised in Besançon from 25 June to 8 July 2012. The latter had as its theme "Territorial intelligence and valorisation of the territory of the Ouarzazate region". The Faculty of Ouarzazate joined this project which is part of the GDRI INTI "International Network of Territorial Intelligence" and which is supported by CAMPUS France, the French Agency for the promotion of higher education, reception, and international mobility, and the Regional Council of Franche-Comté. Indeed, this cooperation project aimed to define jointly:

-* The programme of a professionalising higher education of the second cycle.

-* A fundamental and applied research service

-* A territorial observatory, a tool of this service in terms of valorisation of territories.

It directly involved researchers from the Poly-disciplinary Faculty of Ouarzazate (Ibnou Zohr University) and the University of Franche-Comté, specialists in territorial intelligence, information and communication sciences, geography, landscapes, environment, GIS, valorisation of territories, and territorial observation methods. The objective consisted of sharing knowledge and know-how in this field and setting up a monitoring observatory at the Maghreb and European level capable of capturing territorial data, diagnosing them, and evaluating them by using software dedicated to this effect.
