The Grand Ouarzazate Foundation for Sustainable Development has strengthened its medical services offered free of charge to kidney failure patients in the region, through the recent acquisition of a significant batch of products necessary for the treatment of this disease, with the aim of filling the gap in terms of care in the city of Ouarzazate's only haemodialysis centre.
This initiative aims to contribute to better meeting the growing demand of people suffering from kidney failure in the three cities of the region, namely Ouarzazate, Zagora, and Tenghir, indicates a press release from the Foundation, adding that this approach is likely to alleviate the financial burdens of patients and their families, particularly regarding travel expenses to Marrakech or Agadir.
According to the same source, this initiative reinforces the social and humanitarian actions undertaken by the Foundation, which also organises and finances a number of medical caravans for the benefit of the most destitute inhabitants of the region, as well as summer camps for children and the distribution of school bags with school supplies to students.
The Grand Ouarzazate Foundation for Sustainable Development was established in March 2010, following a constitutive general assembly that elected Mohamed Rochdi Chraïbi as president.
