Laâyoune: 153 million dirhams for the extension of the Moulay El Hassan Ben El Mehdi hospital

Launched on the occasion of the celebration of the 49th anniversary of the glorious Green March, this project aims to strengthen the supply of care in the province, and to improve patient care as well as the working conditions of the hospital staff.



Spread over an area of 8,205 m², this project, whose execution period is 18 months, includes the construction of five operating theatre rooms, an intensive care unit with 10 beds and a maternity ward with 60 beds.

In a statement to MAP, the Regional Director of Health and Social Protection, Ali El Houari, noted that this project is part of the implementation of the new development model for the Kingdom's southern provinces.

Once the work is completed, the hospital's capacity will increase from 240 to 310 beds, he specified, noting that the hospital will be equipped with state-of-the-art equipment.

The launch of this project took place in the presence, in particular, of the Wali of the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region, Governor of the Laâyoune province, Abdeslam Bekrate, elected officials, and consuls general accredited to Laâyoune.
