His Majesty King Mohammed VI arrived in Laâyoune early Thursday evening. Upon disembarking at Laâyoune-Hassan I Airport, His Majesty the King reviewed a detachment of the Royal Guard that paid honors, before being greeted by the President of the Royal Advisory Council for Saharan Affairs (CORCAS), Khalihenna Ould Errachid, the Wali of the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region and Governor of the Laâyoune province, Bouchaab Yahdih, the President of the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra Regional Council, Hamdi Ould Errachid, and the Secretary General of CORCAS, Maâ Al Aïnine Maâ Al Aïnine. His Majesty the King was also greeted by the governors of the provinces of Tarfaya, Boujdour, and Smara, the governor in charge of coordination with MINURSO, the presidents of the communal and provincial councils of Laâyoune, the director of the Agency for the Development of the Southern Provinces, and representatives of the civil and military authorities of the Laâyoune wilaya. The Sovereign was then greeted by the presidents of the provincial councils of Boujdour and Smara, the presidents of the municipal councils of Marsa, Boujdour, and Tarfaya, the presidents of the Chambers of Handicrafts, Commerce and Industry, Agriculture and Maritime Fisheries, members of parliament and parliamentary advisors, as well as notables of the region.
On this happy occasion, the city's inhabitants flocked in large numbers to welcome the Sovereign in an enthusiastic display. Throughout the route taken by the royal procession, the populations gave a most warm welcome to His Majesty the King on the occasion of this blessed visit, which honors the region as a whole and constitutes a mark of the Sovereign's high solicitude towards his loyal people.
The Sovereign made a point of greeting the citizens who had come in large numbers on this memorable day to reiterate their marks of loyalty and allegiance to His Majesty and their attachment to the glorious Alaouite Throne.
In a festive atmosphere, the inhabitants of Laâyoune chanted in unison cheers for His Majesty the King, Amir Al Mouminine, expressing their deep gratitude to the Sovereign for this blessed visit, which represents a new stage on the path of the region's development, in line with the major socio-economic development projects launched throughout the Kingdom.
