Laâyoune: 12 million DH from the Addoha Group for football in the Sahara

Laâyoune: 12 million DH from the Addoha Group for football in the Sahara

In a first of its kind, the Addoha Group is dedicating an amount of 12 million dirhams to encourage football in the southern provinces of the Kingdom. In the presence of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mohamed Ouzzine, and Charki Draiss, Minister Delegate to the Minister of the Interior, a partnership agreement was signed last week in Laâyoune between the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), the Addoha Group, and the Sahara Football League. Under this agreement, the Addoha Group undertakes to make an amount of 12 MDH available to the League during the 2014-2017 period, at a rate of 3 MDH annually. This amount is intended for the financing of the acquisition of sports equipment for the benefit of clubs affiliated with the League. Initialled by the president of the FRMF, Fouzi Lekjaa, the president of the Sahara Football League, Houcine Benaouiss, and the general manager of the Addoha Group, Anas Sefrioui, this agreement is part of the measures taken by the new office of the FRMF for the development of national football, and which thus translates the commitment in favour of the development of football, particularly in the Southern provinces. This partnership comes in application of the royal directives urging the private sector to play its role fully and effectively as a partner of the new integrated national sports development plan, by working in concert with public authorities and the bodies of the national sports and Olympic movement. Note that the Addoha Group had already expressed its strong interest in the Southern provinces last February. The real estate developer has, in fact, decided to establish itself in these provinces and develop several social housing projects there. Through this establishment, the group is taking part in the efforts led by the State to put into practice the recommendations of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CESE) aimed at the socio-economic and human development of the Southern provinces.
