Noureddine Laâzize: I am convinced that Algeria is behind all the horrors we are suffering

Noureddine Laâzize: I am convinced that Algeria is behind all the horrors we are suffering

A native of Laâyoune, Noureddine Laâzize is a sports expert and an associative actor. He founded, in 2006, the Hispano-Moroccan Friendship Association. This association has branches in the Canaries, Belgium, Holland and Mauritania.

In addition to defending the nationals of both countries, the AHM defends the territorial integrity of Morocco. Noureddine Laâzize is currently in Laâyoune as part of the activities of the ARAH Sports Club.

He attended the various meetings held as part of the civil society mobilisation against separatist demonstrations in the Southern provinces.

Interview.

LibƩ: What do you think of the situation in the Southern provinces?

Noureddine Laâzize: You know that the Algerian generals are preparing for Bouteflika's succession. To do this, they are looking for the weakling who will be submitted to them and will bear this title. Also, to divert the attention of the Algerian people, they are ready for anything and the Sahara remains their favourite field.

How do you justify what you just said?

I was in Tunis, as part of the Social Forum, and I noticed that the Algerian intelligence services were behaving like sworn enemies of the Moroccan people and State. They were the ones behind the aggression against Moroccan journalists. I was with the journalists and we had all suffered the same aggression for the sole reason that we were Moroccan. That is why I am convinced that any attempt at destabilisation in our country comes from Algeria. The money that is distributed to adolescents and younger people to incite them to violence comes from this country.

How, in your opinion, can we put an end to these demonstrations that often lead to bloody clashes?

I am sure that the wisdom of the Moroccans will eventually prevail. But I am convinced that these demonstrations are, above all, of a social nature. The young people that Algerian money mobilises only ask to work and live in peace. The government must encourage job creation. The project of advanced regionalisation and internal autonomy is slow to take shape. Its application will be the beginning of a solution to the social crisis that is shaking the region and that of the Sahara problem, which constitutes an obstacle to the march of this Maghreb that all the peoples of the region are waiting for.
