Inauguration of the MGPAP multidisciplinary medical centre: Towards easing the workload of public hospitals

A multidisciplinary medical centre of the General Mutual of Public Administration Officials (MGPAP) was inaugurated on Saturday in Laâyoune, as part of the proximity policy adopted by the MGPAP regarding the provision of medical and administrative services, and with the objective of lightening the workload of public hospitals.

Inaugurated by a delegation led by the Wali of the Laâyoune-Boujdour-Sakia El Hamra region, Governor of the province of Laâyoune, Khalil Dkhil, the centre is composed of several specialties, including obstetrics and gynaecology, gastrointestinal system, paediatrics, general medicine, ophthalmology, physiotherapy, and dentistry, as well as a diagnostic room, a laboratory, and a fibroscope.

The establishment of this centre aims to bring services closer to the members of the mutual, contribute to the regional policy adopted by the Kingdom, and strengthen medical services in the southern provinces, indicated Abdelmoula Abdelmoumni, president of the MGPAP Board of Directors, in a statement to the press.

Thanks to a complete database on the members of the mutual, the centre is also able to offer medical and administrative services to members and their beneficiaries comparable to those provided at the central level, affirmed Mr. Abdelmoumni.

He added that the centre will help lighten the workload on public hospitals and hospital centres, especially since the latter now offer services as part of the Medical Assistance Scheme (RAMED).

The centre, whose services are open to members of the MGPAP and other mutuals, has a daily capacity of 20 people for dental care, 60 for diagnostics, 10 for ophthalmology, and five people for physiotherapy.
