The first Pedagogical Days on the environment began on Tuesday in Laâyoune and will continue until 26 May, under the theme "Environmental education, an ethical responsibility".
This event, organised by the National Association of the Sahara Initiative for Education and Development, aims to raise awareness of the importance of environmental protection and to ensure an education that allows rising generations to develop an environmental culture.
The association's delegate, Badreddine Youssef, told the MAP that the organisation of such activities, which target pupils, stems from the association's conviction of the importance of the role of school establishments in the education of the child.
These days also aim to lay the foundations for pedagogical projects focusing on training, learning and the acquisition of artistic and intellectual know-how by the child, he added.
Since its creation, the association has organised several pedagogical activities through workshops on the environment, plastic arts and theatre. The programme for these days, in which several school establishments are taking part, includes round tables on the environment, screenings of documentaries on renewable energies and cultural competitions.
