Since its launch, the Rawaj-Vision 2020 Plan which aims to make the trade and distribution sector one of the levers of socio-economic development has reached 2,755 beneficiaries in the Laâyoune-Boujdour-Sakia El Hamra region. Launched by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and New Technologies, the Rawaj-Vision 2020 Plan focuses on supporting the modernisation of local trade in the Laâyoune-Boujdour-Sakia El Hamra region and consists of accompanying traders through training, expertise and contribution to the acquisition of professional equipment necessary for the modernisation and rehabilitation of businesses.
To date, 2,335 small businesses, including 1,915 in Laâyoune and 420 in Boujdour, have benefited from this plan which consists of supporting the domestic trade sector, modernising its varied components, increasing its performance by 2020, and creating a trade development fund intended to support the promotion and modernisation of the business activities of small traders. The maximum total cost of the programme amounts to 63.2 million DH. This programme has targeted several sectors of activity at the level of the Laâyoune-Boujdour-Sakia El Hamra region, notably food products, ready-to-wear clothing, cosmetic products, butchery and the sale of fish, vegetables and fruits. These business premises are distributed in all the arteries of the cities of Laâyoune and Boujdour. This plan launched in 2011 also provides for other axes including a feasibility study with a view to creating an activity zone in Laâyoune. The realisation of this project will be ensured by the Ministry of Trade, the urban commune of Laâyoune, the wilaya of the Laâyoune-Boujdour-Sakia El Hamra region, the Southern Agency and the CDG, through MedZ. As well as another project in partnership with the National Agency for Small and Medium Enterprises to ensure the accompaniment of four units that have just been born at the level of the city of Laâyoune. This accompaniment is ensured by the Moussanada programme for SMEs and aims to improve the competitiveness of these units. The Rawaj Plan provides for financing measures allowing them to develop the profitability of their projects and to contribute fully to the modernisation of the trade sector, called upon to become a real lever for local development. Thus this plan rests on three pillars: the improvement and commercial planning of the reception offer, the modernisation of local trade and finally the organisation of distribution circuits. Let us recall that the commercial sector plays an important role in socio-economic development and job creation at the level of this region which is experiencing great dynamism.
