The Ministerial Delegation in charge of Human Rights and the National Human Rights Council are organizing the third regional day on the universal periodic review in the field of human rights.
This study day, which will be held on Saturday, February 11 at the Laâyoune Congress Palace, aims at the following objectives:
- To have exposure instruments concerning the overlaps and complementarity between treaty bodies and special procedures.
- Knowledge of experiences, comparison through the first phase of the Human Rights Council.
- To discover to what extent the recommendations issued by the UN working team, concerning the global report presented by our country on the occasion of its 1st report, in 2008, as well as the commitments taken, voluntarily, by Morocco, in this direction.
Regarding the general objectives, they concern:
- The consolidation of the participation of the different components of society;
- The broadening of the framework for dialogue between stakeholders;
- The consolidation of coordination and the involvement of associative actors from government departments, concerned national establishments, local and national civil society associations, unions, the university and experts;
- Data exchange and investment of capacities regarding the national report currently being executed;
- Mastery of work approaches for the preparation of this report;
The improvement of execution on the occasion of the preparation of the national report for the second phase.
