As Lahoussine Ndoufi, General Delegate of the Festival, specified, the objective is first and foremost a unique opportunity to promote the African film industry and culture, while creating spaces for dialogue, communication, and exchange of experiences between specialists of the 7th art of Africa. The Festival, he added, multiplies actions and initiatives in the service of peace and the development of the African population. The programme of this 16th edition, which will take place until 29 June, includes 17 films in competition, representing 15 African countries, namely Senegal, Ivory Coast, Togo, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Angola, Tanzania, Mozambique, Niger, Guinea-Bissau, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, and Mali as guest of honour. Morocco will be represented by 3 films, two of which will be screened for the first time. Furthermore, one of these latter two will be programmed as the opening film of the Festival. In parallel with the screenings, a rich programme is planned to address the major issues of African cinema through conferences, workshops, and debates.
