The second edition of the Khouribga-Africa Festival will begin this weekend, Saturday 15 June, at the city's Cultural Complex, with a show given by the American group "Step Afrika".
"Human heritage at the service of development". Such is the theme of this edition which promises wonderful moments of relaxation for festival-goers.
It should be recalled that this event is part of the Morocco-Africa programme, initiated by the East-West Foundation in partnership with the United States Embassy in Morocco and the OCP Foundation. And that it will travel to other cities in the Kingdom. Indeed, besides the city of Khouribga, the festival will also make stops in Rabat, Oujda and Safi from 15 to 27 June.
The programme of this cultural and artistic event includes a variety of shows hosted by internationally renowned groups and artists coming notably from the United States, Togo, Congo-Brazzaville, Congo Kinshasa and Morocco.
Thus, the province of Khouribga will host, with the support of the National Initiative for Human Development, the Khouribga African Film Festival Foundation and local authorities, two concerts, on the 22nd and 27th of the current month. Step Afrika is a professional company dedicated to the tradition of stepping, ritual dances originating from African-American fraternities and using the body as an instrument.
Founded in 1994, the company has distinguished itself on numerous stages in North and South America, Europe, Asia, Africa and the Caribbean.
There is no doubt that the public will appreciate this group known for its beautiful performances.
