After having long demanded the improvement of working conditions in their establishment, the students of the Aboul Kacim Ezzayani high school decided to demonstrate in the street. They want to draw the attention of those responsible to the lamentable state and the dilapidation of the infrastructure in an educational establishment belonging to the heritage of the oldest high schools in the country. Like the Tarek high school in Azrou, Mohammed V and Moulay Abdellah in Casablanca, or even Moulay Youssef in Rabat, the said high school is a school heritage to be protected.

Despite the multiple appeals of students and teachers, those responsible have always practised the policy of the deaf ear or that of the makeshift solution through a few interventions each time there was a crisis on this subject. This time, the students have had enough. The situation has become unbearable and pedagogical conditions have become non-existent in the opinion of both students and teachers. The dilapidation of the buildings, the lack of equipment in the laboratories, and the insufficiency of equipment in the classrooms, as well as the degradation of the toilets, especially for girls, have become almost a fatality for the Aboul Kacim Ezzayani high school.

However, the straw that broke the camel's back is the question of extra hours which are, according to the students, a real nightmare especially for those who cannot pay for them. Those who provide them, according to the students' accounts, offer preferential treatment to students who have the possibility of paying for them. For them, it is a flagrant abuse, because it is against the principle of equal opportunity, which has become a hollow slogan. The students of the oldest high school in the province also demand a proper library and not a room that is always closed.

Furthermore, they are asking for an investigation into the covered hall, which is supposed to be used for sports activities and which has become a hangar reserved for the delegation. At the boarding school level, it is a disaster. The accommodation and catering conditions are inhumane and all the students who reside there are forced to go eat elsewhere and suffer in these times of freezing cold from a great lack of heating means and even blankets and mattresses.

The students of the Aboul Kacim Ezzayani high school also demand clarifications on the role and functions of the security agents recruited by the delegation. It is certain that the officials, faced with every grumbling of the students, will provide the high school with a few tables and blackboards and perhaps a few desks because in this high school, the teacher has neither a desk nor a chair. He is forced to remain standing during class hours like a soldier in front of a barracks. The Aboul Kacim Ezzayani high school in Khénifra needs a real restructuring and a questioning of its pedagogical map to become what it was in the good old days: a model high school.
