New health structures reflecting royal benevolence towards the population

The constant solicitude that His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, surrounds people suffering from chronic diseases with, and His desire to ensure equal access to health care, were once again illustrated, Saturday, through the launch by the Sovereign of the work to build a unit specialised in the care of silicotic patients and a haemodialysis centre in the province of Jerada.
New health structures reflecting royal benevolence towards the population

Through this royal gesture, the infrastructure for the care of patients suffering from kidney failure and those affected by silicosis is strengthened, which constitutes a mark of renewed benevolence towards the inhabitants of this city in the north-east of the Kingdom. Requiring investments of around 7.9 million dirhams (MDH), the unit specialised in the care of silicotic patients will house a hospitalisation ward, another for consultations and physiotherapy, and a final administrative one. With a capacity of 34 beds, this unit should contribute to the diagnosis and treatment of people affected by silicosis, a respiratory condition widespread in this region and likely to strike coal miners. Adjoining the provincial hospital of Jerada, the haemodialysis centre will contribute, for its part, to the decongestion of the nephrology department of the Al Farabi Hospital Centre of Oujda and to the improvement of health services offered to people suffering from kidney failure. The result of a partnership between the Ministry of Health, the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH), the provincial council of Jerada, and the Oriental Development Agency, the future centre (5.3 million DH) will be equipped with modern materials and equipment and will be able to accommodate up to 60 patients per day. These new health structures reinforce the various projects and initiatives launched by H.M. King Mohammed VI: INDH, Royal Initiative for the development of the Oriental region, medical assistance scheme, which are intended to democratise health care and provide citizens with the conditions for a dignified and prosperous life.
