The film "Patika" by Turkish director Onur Yagiz won the grand prize of the 11th edition of the Imouzzer Kander People's Cinema Festival, initiated from the 13th to the 16th of November with the participation of many foreign countries.
The special jury prize of this cultural event, organised by the Ciné-Club of Imouzzer Kandar in partnership with the Royal Institute of Amazigh Culture, was awarded to Canadian director Carl Beauchemin for his work "Le gouffre".
The prize for best cinematography was won by Canadian director Christian Laurence for his film "Jeu de paume". The prize for the best promotion of a people's culture was also awarded to Canadian director Paul Tom for his work "Pays de silence", while the audience award was won by Moroccan director Hamid Azizi for his Amazigh short film "Matawya".
The programme of the People's Cinema Festival focused on a multitude of cultural and artistic activities, including the screening of 21 short films from Canada, Chile, Algeria, Turkey, France, and Morocco.
