Blood donation: ITA trainees in Guercif mobilise to replenish the regional stock
Trainees from the Institute of Applied Technology (ITA) in Guercif mobilised to ensure the success of a blood donation campaign, organised on Thursday, with the aim of strengthening the regional stock and establishing a culture of human solidarity.

This initiative, organised by the Goutte d'Espoir Blood Transfusion Association in partnership with the ITA, which falls under the OFPPT, and the Oujda Regional Blood Transfusion Centre, made it possible to collect 91 bags of blood, which will contribute to strengthening the regional stock of this vital substance.

This campaign aims to reduce the deficit recorded in the regional blood stock and contribute to meeting the growing demand for this essential substance to save lives in emergencies and during surgical operations.

In a statement to MAP, Mustapha Akil, a member of the Goutte d'Espoir Association, explained that the organisation of this campaign is part of the efforts deployed for years by the association, in cooperation with civil society associations and various institutions at the level of the Guercif province, with the objective of consolidating the culture of blood donation within society and raising awareness of the importance of this act to save lives.

He also specified that this initiative, in which 120 trainees from the Institute participated, aims to collect the largest possible number of blood bags, given the urgent need for this vital substance, as well as the deficit recorded in this area at the regional and national levels.

For his part, the Director of the ITA of Guercif, Salim Sabbah, indicated that the involvement of the Institute's trainees in this campaign is part of the implementation of the annual programme of the Office of Vocational Training, and the Institute's contribution to consolidating the culture of blood donation among young people.

He continued that the participation of a significant number of trainees, both men and women, testifies to an increased awareness of the importance of blood donation as a national and humanitarian duty, noting that this type of initiative contributes significantly to improving the level of interaction with medical needs at the regional level.
