With the arrival of winter and the drop in temperatures in various Moroccan cities, the suffering of homeless people and those living on the streets increases, as the search for shelter and warmth becomes an urgent need.
In this context, the Regional Delegation for National Cooperation in the city of Guercif launched, last night, Friday, the “Warm Winter” campaign, aimed at providing humanitarian support to this group suffering from homelessness in light of the cold weather.
The campaign, which was organized in coordination with local authorities and the Guercif municipality, and with the participation of the “Sanad” association, focused on tours in the city's streets and alleys to search for homeless people and those with mental disabilities who do not have shelter to protect them from the harsh weather.
Following this, these individuals were transported to the social shelter center in Guercif, where basic care is provided to them, including food, drink, and medical services as part of the efforts made to alleviate the effects of homelessness, especially during the winter season, which exacerbates the suffering of this vulnerable group.
It is worth noting that a group of Moroccan cities witness similar interventions every year at this time by a group of civil society associations, which work to organize campaigns to provide food, bedding, blankets, and warm clothing for this group.
