Organised by the Office Chérifien des Phosphates (OCP) in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and Maritime Fisheries, as well as the wilayas, Chambers of Agriculture and professional organisations of the Kingdom's three southern regions, this caravan is aimed at small-scale livestock farmers and agriculturalists in the regions it passes through, with the goal of sharing the experience and expertise of the various partners involved and popularising high-performance agricultural production techniques.
The Phosboucraâ agricultural caravan, organised under the theme of "Camel breeding", also aims to transmit good practices for managing camel herds and to highlight the role of nutrition, animal health and good reflexes for managing dromedary reproduction, taking into account the particularities and specificities of the southern provinces.
The Vice-President of the Phosboucraa Foundation, Hajbouha Ezzoubir, indicated that the organisation of this initiative is part of the constant support provided by the OCP to small-scale livestock farmers and agriculturalists in the regions and to the Green Morocco Plan.
She stressed that this caravan, which follows the launch of the OCP agricultural caravan by HM King Mohammed VI in October 2012, also aims to enable livestock farmers to significantly improve the productivity of their herds, increase their incomes and improve their living conditions.
This caravan will contribute to the promotion of rational camel herd management and the improvement of their performance through better mastery of genetics, nutrition, health, value-added processing and marketing, she noted.
