Approximately 1,036 quintals of selected seeds were sold in the Guelmim-Oued Noun region during the period from October 11 to December 25.
According to the regional director of the agricultural council of Guelmim-Oued Noun, this quantity of seeds, acquired by 412 farmers and agricultural land operators, is divided into 374 quintals of barley, 64.5 quintals of soft wheat, and 597.5 quintals of durum wheat. Four points of sale were designated for these seeds, located in the cities of Guelmim, Bouizakarne, Assa, and Sidi Ifni. The same source specifies that several measures have been taken to ensure the smooth start of the current agricultural campaign, including the launch of a support and assistance program for farmers by the National Office for Agricultural Advisory Services and the organisation of field visits, awareness campaigns, and training sessions to encourage farmers to adopt good agricultural practices and offer them the opportunity to improve their financial income. The total area cultivated with autumn cereals during the current agricultural campaign at the regional level is approximately 2,535 hectares, including 1,575 ha of barley, 150 ha of soft wheat, 810 ha of durum wheat, in addition to 240 ha for fodder crops and 655 ha for vegetable crops.
