The curtain fell, on Sunday in Fkih Ben Saleh, on the 13th edition of the "Thousand and One Horses" cultural and artistic festival, organised from 4 to 10 April under the High Patronage of H.M. King Mohammed VI. During the closing session of this edition, placed under the theme "The horse: wealth and heritage" and for which Spain was the guest of honour, encouragement and support prizes were awarded to about 32 fantasia formations that had a distinguished presence during the festival. The inhabitants of the city and its surroundings attended the performances of more than 1,500 riders representing the Béni Mellal-Khénifra region and other regions of the Kingdom who excelled during fantasia shows, a cultural and artistic heritage that contributes to the influence of the region.
This festival, initiated by the municipal council of Fkih Ben Saleh, local authorities, and associations of the province, offers a showcase to make the equestrian heritage known in its cultural and artistic aspects, through the activities, shows, and competitions programmed. On the menu of this event was notably an international marathon which brought together, on the occasion of its sixth edition, a galaxy of Moroccan and international athletes. The organisers work, year after year, to achieve the objectives of the Fkih Ben Saleh Horse Festival, namely to promote the influence of this city and its region on the national and international levels, develop the local socio-economic heritage, develop knowledge about the horse, and offer visitors a place for meeting, discovery, and entertainment through a rich and varied programme of animation and shows.
