Because we all have a reason to love the horse, because we feel a unique happiness every time the El Jadida Horse Show opens its doors. Today, this show is blowing out its 7th candle.
For this edition, it is HRH Prince Moulay Rachid who presided, on Monday, over the opening of the Show which is being held from 21 to 26 October under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI at the Princess Lalla Malika racecourse. This prestigious equine event has chosen this year to place the event under the theme "Equestrian tourism in Morocco".
On this occasion, a study day to which the main national and international operators in the sector are invited is scheduled with a view to examining in detail the means and measures to be implemented for the structuring and professionalisation of the sector.
Despite its embryonic state, equestrian tourism in Morocco is promised a future full of development potential, especially since it is a booming sector and a first-rate growth lever for horse breeding. This year's programme is as rich as it is varied, offering visitors, in addition to a large number of equestrian disciplines - where some 810 horses will be entered -, entertainment, exhibitions, conferences, shows and large-scale national and international competitions.
These include the international model and gaits competition (show A) for the purebred Arabian horse, the national Arabian-Barb horse championship or the CSI 1* international show jumping competition and the CSI 3*W international show jumping competition, the 3rd stage of the Morocco Royal Tour, qualifying for the World Cup.
Furthermore, the Royal Guard is getting into the saddle with its carousel by also taking part in this edition. For about twenty minutes, some sixty riders and musicians will strive to take the public on a journey into the magical world of the horse.
Dressed in their traditional ceremonial costumes, they ride local horses harnessed in the pure Moroccan tradition. The twenty-four riders dressed in red or white will reproduce academic figures of an unprecedented carousel.
