Sahraouiya 2025: positivity, resilience, and self-transcendence, an essential triad for the success of sporting events (Olympic athlete)

Dakhla – In the world of sport, positivity, resilience, and self-transcendence are essential elements for success and the smooth running of a sporting event, emphasised Moroccan Olympic judoka Asmaa Niang on Monday in Dakhla.

Speaking during a conference organised on the sidelines of the 11th edition of the Raid Sahraouiya, the Olympic athlete, who is participating in this multi-sport event, insisted on the importance of “balance for physical and mental well-being”, explaining that this harmony is essential not only for overcoming sporting challenges but also for leading a fulfilling life.

Through deep and personal reflection, the athlete, who has been crowned African champion several times, highlighted the role of positivity and resilience in the mental preparation of athletes, noting that during demanding sporting competitions, fatigue or even the environment can quickly undermine morale.

By cultivating an optimistic vision, even in the worst conditions, athletes manage not only to maintain their energy but also to strengthen their ability to surpass themselves, she added.

During this exchange, marked by a warm interaction with the participants, the Moroccan judoka also noted the importance of resilience, particularly in a sporting and human event like the Raid Sahraouiya, noting that resilience constitutes a mental strength and an ability to transform trials into drivers of progress.

According to Asmaa Niang, the goal of this adventure is not just to be on the podium but rather to surpass oneself, to broaden one's own horizons, and to push the boundaries of the possible, whether on a physical or mental level.

Initiated by the “Lagon Dakhla Association” until 08 February, this multi-sport event, combining mountain biking, canoeing, cycling, running, night trail running, and orienteering, is an open invitation to take the leap, confront one's limits, and overcome challenges, all while appreciating the breathtaking landscapes of the city of Dakhla.

After a decade of success, the Raid Sahraouiya is today much more than a sporting event. It has transformed into a true community of supportive women, transcending borders and disciplines to promote values of sharing and kindness.
