The Minister in charge of Relations with Parliament and Civil Society, El Habib Choubani, indicated on Saturday in Béni Mellal that civil society, which is currently playing new roles, is establishing itself as an essential partner in decision-making at the legislative and control level as well as in terms of the development, monitoring and evaluation of public policies, and this thanks to the new Constitution which has provided it with new prerogatives. Speaking at the opening of a meeting organised by the "Krazza" Association for Rural Development in Béni Mellal under the theme "The role of civil society in the implementation of the new Constitution", Choubani specified that this conclave is part of a series of meetings with associations with a view to presenting the government's vision in the field of constitutional reforms relating to civil society. This meeting, imbued with a participatory and regional aspect, aims to create interactivity with a wide range of civil society representatives, to be attentive to their remarks concerning the national dialogue on civil society, and to find the mechanisms that should allow the implementation of the provisions of the Constitution, the objective being to promote conditions of proximity between State structures and citizens, noted the minister. For his part, the president of the "Krazza" Association, Abdelkrim El Ghilani, specified that this meeting has the objective of examining the means likely to promote the role of civil society in the wake of the latest political and social developments that Morocco is experiencing, putting the emphasis on the essential role of civil society within the framework of participatory democracy and on the need to invest in the human element.
