The city of Erfoud is hosting, on 26 and 27 March, the Forum of researchers and experts of the region, the work of which will be concluded by the creation of the Drâa-Tafilalet Forum Foundation.
The Committee of Deans of Universities in the Drâa-Tafilalet region is organising, on 26 and 27 March, in Erfoud, the Forum of researchers and experts of the region. This major event will bring together more than 1,000 Moroccan experts and researchers from about 30 countries, in order to take part in a Forum aimed at creating a body federating the potential from the Drâa-Tafilalet region.
On the menu for the first day of this event are a scientific seminar and workshops during which experts, coming from Morocco and abroad, will address subjects relating to regional development through highlighting the potential that the region abounds with, development prospects and effective solutions to establish a regional development model based on science and knowledge. Distinguished guests are expected at this meeting, including Lahcen Daoudi, Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Executive Training, Abdelaziz El Omari, Minister in charge of Relations with Parliament and Civil Society, Khalid Berjaoui, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Education and Vocational Training, Mustapha Bakkoury, Director of the Moroccan Agency for Solar Energy (Masen), Brahim Hafidi, Director of the National Agency for the Development of Oasis Zones and the Argan Tree, as well as the presidents of the universities of Ibn Zohr in Agadir and Moulay Ismail in Meknès.
Welcomed by experts and researchers, this scientific initiative which contributes to the presentation of hundreds of scientific and intellectual potentials of the Drâa-Tafilalet region in many fields is intended as a response to the call launched by the president of the Regional Council, Habib Choubani, during the first consultative meeting attended by a number of experts and engineers. Indeed, during this meeting, the president of the Regional Council had called for the involvement of the scientific and intellectual potential of this region in the development of the development project on solid scientific bases. The objective is to put the region at the necessary competitive level on the national and international levels, and this, in concretisation of the spirit of advanced regionalisation which represents a lever for national socio-economic development capable of favouring a wider involvement of skills to meet the challenges of progress and ensure a decent life for the population of the region.
The work of the Forum of experts and researchers will be concluded by the signing of a partnership agreement between the body that will be created shortly (Drâa-Tafilalet Forum Foundation for experts and researchers), the Regional Council and other partners.
