The Administrative Court of Casablanca ruled on Wednesday to accept the request of the governor of the Ain Sebaa-Hay Mohammadi districts, ordering the inspection of the Ain Sebaa district president's refusal to include the request for his resignation in the agenda of the first session of the fourth year.
The Administrative Court ruled in favour of the governor of Ain Sebaa-Hay Mohammadi districts, which puts the president in a difficult position, as he is obliged to implement the judicial decision, bringing him closer to dismissal from his post.
According to sources from the Hespress electronic newspaper, the members opposing the aforementioned district president began intensive contacts today to rally support and avoid any division.
The governor of Ain Sebaa-Hay Mohammadi districts resorted to the administrative judiciary after the president, belonging to the Popular Movement party, Youssef Lahsinia, refused to include an item concerning the request for his dismissal, in accordance with Article 70 of the Organic Law on Local Authorities.
Two-thirds of the members of the Ain Sebaa district council submitted a request to President Youssef Lahsinia to hold an extraordinary session that would include the item of his dismissal, which he did not respond to in the session held last Thursday.
This session saw the refusal of members belonging to the National Rally of Independents, Authenticity and Modernity, Independence, Progress and Socialism, Popular Movement, and Constitutional Union parties to attend its proceedings.
The first deputy president, Karim Claibi, from the Authenticity and Modernity party, along with Moulay Ahmed Affelal, from the Independence party, are considered the prominent candidates for the position of district president and to succeed the current president.
