On High Instructions from H.M. the King, H.R.H. Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan receives the Chinese President

Upon disembarking from his plane at the Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca, the Chinese Head of State was welcomed by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan.

Subsequently, H.E. Mr. Xi Jinping was greeted by the Head of Government, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch, before reviewing a detachment of the Royal Guard that rendered honors.

H.R.H. the Crown Prince and the Chinese President were then greeted by the Wali of the Casablanca-Settat region, governor of the Casablanca prefecture, Mr. Mohamed Mhidia, the President of the Casablanca-Settat Regional Council, Mr. Abdellatif Maâzouz, the governor of the Nouaceur Province, Mr. Jalal Benhayoun, the President of the Nouaceur Provincial Council, Mr. Mohammed Salmani, and the President of the Nouaceur Commune, Mr. Abdelaziz Radi.

H.R.H. the Crown Prince and H.E. Mr. Xi Jinping were also greeted by Mr. Li Changlin, Ambassador of China to Morocco, Mr. Zhou Zhicheng, Minister-Counselor at the Chinese Embassy, Mr. Xia Kelin, Military Attaché at the Chinese Embassy, and Mr. Zheng Wei, Economic and Commercial Counselor at the Chinese Embassy.

At the entrance to the airport's VIP lounge, the Chinese Head of State, who is accompanied by a delegation including Mr. Cai Qi, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau and Director General of the General Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Mr. Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Central Foreign Affairs Commission, and Ms. Hua Chunying, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs, was invited to the traditional ceremony of offering milk and dates.

After a brief pause in the VIP lounge, the official procession headed towards the Chinese President's residence in the Kingdom's economic capital.

This visit illustrates the depth of the relations of friendship, cooperation, and solidarity uniting the Moroccan and Chinese peoples, thanks to the common will of the Heads of State of both countries, H.M. King Mohammed VI and H.E. Mr. Xi Jinping, to move forward in consolidating the Sino-Moroccan strategic partnership sealed during the Sovereign's last visit to China in May 2016.
