A partnership agreement was approved, in this context, during the ordinary session of March of the Fes-Meknes regional council held last Monday in Moulay Yacoub, and which was devoted to the adoption of a series of partnership agreements touching different sectors.
This convention, which is part of the framework of the organization of the 2030 World Cup, aims to rehabilitate and develop the road axes to improve the quality of connection of the Fes sports complex and thereby strengthen road safety conditions.
These projects are part of the 2022-2027 regional development program (PDR), endowed with a total investment of 29.5 MMDH.
The council will provide 38 million DH while the rest (1.744 MMDH) will be mobilized by the Ministries of Economy and Finance and Equipment and Water as well as the wilaya of the Fes-Meknes region.
Within the framework of strengthening the road infrastructure of the region, the council adopted another partnership agreement aimed at strengthening the road network in the various prefectures and provinces of the region with a total investment estimated at more than one billion DH.
This amount will be distributed equally between the regional council (508 MDH) and its partners (508 MDH). This agreement comes within the framework of the implementation of several projects that are part of the regional development program, currently being implemented.
According to data from the council, the road network of the Fes-Meknes region totals a length of 7625 Km, or 18.5% of the national road network. The national roads in the region extend over a length of 918 Km and the regional axes over 1695 Km. The provincial network totals 5012 Km.
