The cost of completing the project, which will be finished at the end of next September, reached 120 million dirhams, funded by the Ministry of the Interior with an amount of 90 million dirhams.
The Director General of the Ouarzazate Development Company, Brahim Hamou Ouja, highlighted in a statement to the Maghreb Arabe Presse agency that the project, equipped with modern devices and equipment, targets about 90,000 of the population, including 45,000 new beneficiaries in the communes located on the Ouarzazate-Skoura axis.
He explained that the project mainly concerns the construction of a water pipeline extending over 30 kilometres for drinking water supply, the completion of a repumping station with a reservoir that can hold 500 cubic metres, and the completion of a large-sized storage reservoir with a capacity of 1,500 cubic metres.
He pointed out that the project will enable the development of water supply, demand management, water saving and valorisation, and the strengthening of drinking water supply.
The launch of the works for this project was given by the governor of the Ouarzazate province, Abdellah Jahid, who was accompanied by elected officials, heads of external services, and representatives of the Ouarzazate Development Company.
