Ouarzazate – 12,134 families in the Ouarzazate province are benefiting from the “Ramadan 1446” food support operation organized by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity on the occasion of this holy month.
This social and solidarity initiative in the Ouarzazate province targets 1,534 families in urban areas and 10,600 families from rural and mountainous regions in the area.
This operation, which aims to provide support and assistance to the most vulnerable social groups, includes several communes in the Ouarzazate province, under the supervision of local authorities fully mobilized to ensure the distribution of aid in the best conditions.
In this regard, many beneficiaries expressed their deep gratitude for this Royal initiative, which reflects the constant Royal care for families in vulnerable situations.
For (M.T.), one of the beneficiaries from the rural commune of Ghassate, this support is useful and meets her urgent needs, especially in this holy month which sees an increase in the budget allocated to food compared to other months.
It is worth noting that under the high instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan and Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Khadija oversaw, last Monday, in the Bouregreg district (Youssoufia prefecture) in Rabat, the launch of the national operation “Ramadan 1446H”, which benefits one million families, or about 5 million people.
The “Ramadan 1446” operation, for which a total budget of 330 million dirhams has been allocated, involves the distribution of 34,280 tonnes of food products (flour, milk, rice, oil, sugar, tomato paste, pasta, lentils, and tea), with the aim of providing assistance and support to the most vulnerable social groups, especially widows, the elderly, and people with disabilities.
For this edition, 74 percent of the beneficiary families live in rural areas, distributed across 1,054 communes out of a total of 1,304 targeted communes across the national territory.
The national operation “Ramadan 1446”, organized with financial support from the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, falls within the framework of the humanitarian program implemented by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, aimed at providing support to those most in need, while promoting a culture of solidarity.
