More than 2000 people from several Douars of the commune of Sebt Loudaya, in the province of Moulay Yacoub, benefited on Sunday from a multidisciplinary medical campaign organized by the Provincial Committee for Human Development (CPDH).
Initiated in partnership with the Provincial Delegation of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection and the Initiatives Santé et Aide au Développement (ISAAD) association, this campaign made it possible to meet the needs of a varied population, including women, children, and people suffering from chronic diseases.
Dar Taliba (Student House) and the primary school of Sebt Loudaya were transformed for the occasion into consultation centres where a dedicated team of health professionals provided the necessary care to this segment of the population located in remote areas.
In a statement to the MAP, the president of the ISAAD association and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Pharmacy and Dentistry of Fez, Tarik Sqalli Houssaini, highlighted the multidisciplinary nature of this campaign, explaining that this initiative aimed to provide local medical services to citizens, with awareness sessions on various diseases, in particular on child health during the first 1000 days of his life.
Mr. Sqalli Houssaini indicated that a multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, and stakeholders was mobilized, proposing diagnoses and treatments in varied specialties such as general medicine, cardiology, obstetrics and gynaecology, nephrology, endocrinology and diabetes, oral and dental surgery for children, child psychiatry, in addition to blood pressure measurement.
He also mentioned the provision of a pharmacy, the performance of ultrasounds, and laboratory analyses.
The president of ISAAD stressed the importance of regular campaigns organized in the region within the framework of a partnership with the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH). In a similar statement, the head of the Social Action Division (DAS) in the province of Moulay Yacoub, Saadeddine Jilani, affirmed that this medical caravan is part of the efforts made by the INDH to strengthen the health supply in the province, particularly by bringing health services closer to the population.
He recalled the importance given by the INDH to medical examinations specifically targeting women and children, noting that this operation was placed under the theme "The first 1000 days, foundation of our children's future".
Mr. Jilani specified that awareness-raising actions focused on the importance of breastfeeding and nutritional diversification for children under two years old, thus aiming to modify harmful behaviours and disseminate good practices regarding maternal and child health, in order to guarantee healthy physical and cognitive growth for the child.
